After much anticipation, the special RUC IMBA Alumni Reunion was held at the East Hall of the Student Activity Centeron July 12, 2014. The IMBA Alumni Reunion invited Dean XiaoqiangZhi, Professor MajidGhorbani, and teachers of the IMBA office, including Cathy Zhang, Lysa Wang and Shan Fang. In addition,around 40 IMBA Alumni from the graduating Classes of 2011(IMBA 2009) to 2014(IMBA 2012) attended thisunforgettableoccasion, as well as several volunteer helpersfrom the Class of 2015 and 2016.
The event started off with an opening toast and touching video,previously recorded from Vice Principle Zhihong Yi and IMBA Professors that were unable to attend the event, expressingRBS’s gratitude, nostalgia, and hopes for our alumni. The video brought back exciting memories for everyone while highlighting the importance of IMBA Alumni’s role in RBS’ future development internationally. Professor Ghorbani followed up with a short welcome speech in Chinese shocking everyone with his fluency and proving that our IMBA Professors are indeed very talented.
Next, Dean XiaoqiangZhigave the keynote welcome speech that coveredhis aspirations for IMBA’s alumni development from 3 aspects:
1.Donate time: come back to RBSoften to communicate and share ideas with old and newIMBA students
2.Donate opportunities: provide internship opportunities, TAP/ITAP opportunities, and research cases with the IMBA and RBS family
3.Donate resources: introduce useful resources, such as school-enterprise partnerships, company visits, etc.
Dean Zhi’s speech was overall witty and inspirational providing alumni with more passion and motive to contribute back.

After Dean Zhi’s passionate speech, each class representative from the IMBA Classes of 2011-2014 gave a short introduction recalling their student life, career development after graduation, and expressing appreciation and support for the future of RBS and the IMBA program.

Finally,it was free network time, which brought the reunion to another climax, as everyonemingled to reminisce about old memories and discuss new developments. Before anyone realized, it was already 5:30 bringing the event to an end. However, each class already had plans for a dinner reunion afterwards so the fun continued throughout the night.
Besides expressing gratitude for the school’s efforts in organizing the event, the alumni expressed their wishes for regular gatherings/events as well as extended communication.As the IMBA family continues to grow, so will the intricate links connecting everyone together.
